Sattu Chaas is a refreshing and nutritious Indian summer drink made by mixing sattu with buttermilk/chaas. It’s savory, tangy, and refreshing beverage known for its cooling, digestive, and energizing properties.

Here I am sharing quick and easy Sattu chaas recipe with step by step instructions and video. This recipe is a quick-to-make, inexpensive, and highly nutritious beverage, often served chilled.

It hydrates, cools the body, aids in digestion, and provides sustained energy, especially beneficial during hot weather. The drink has an earthy, nutty taste with hints of spice from green chilies, roasted cumin, and salt.

How to make Sattu chaas

In a blender jar add ½ cup yogurt/curd, 2 tbsp sattu, coriander leaves, 1 small green chili, ¼ tsp roasted cumin, salt, ½ cup cold water and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Add ice cubes in glass and pour in prepared drink.

Garnish with boondi and roasted cumin powder.

Enjoy chilled sattu chaas.

Tips

Adjust spice level as per your taste.

For the best refreshing experience, use cold water or add a few ice cubes while blending.

Replace yogurt with plant-based yogurt (like almond or coconut) for a vegan version.

  • 2 Tbsp Sattu

  • Coriander Leaves

  • 1 Green Chili (small)

  • ¼ Tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds/Powder

  • Salt to taste

  • ½ cup Cold water

  • Ice Cubes as required

  • Boondi for garnishing

Directions
